Chad Mendes, in no rush, but confident in taking Aldo's belt

Jose aldo proved last Saturday (8), why he is considered one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world. Before the veteran Kenny Florian, the Brazilian defended the UFC featherweight belt without giving the North American a chance.

More Chad Mendes, who was tipped to face Aldo instead of Florian, believes he can break the Brazilian athlete's hegemony in the organization's featherweight category (up to 66 kg).

Confident in his abilities, the North American claims he is in no rush to win the belt, but he still believes he can beat the Brazilian. “My time will come. I only have 11 fights in my career. I have plenty of time,” Mendes told MMA Hype.

“The belt will be mine sooner or later. I think with my wrestling credentials, my strength, my athleticism, I can beat him (Jose aldo). I don’t think he’s faced anyone yet”, said Chad, who already knows what strategy he should follow to achieve victory.

PUBLICITY:

“To get there (the belt), I'm going to put him on his back and take him out of his comfort zone. I think that will be the key to beating a guy like Aldo. He is the guy that everyone looks at as unbeatable, and he has this aura around him that no one can beat him, but I want to be the guy to go in there and take that belt from him”, he concluded.
