Dana White declared war against referee Mario Yamazaki. The UFC president once again criticized the Brazilian and even assured that he would never mediate a fight in the octagon again. The controversy between them began when Yamazaki was the referee of the fight between and Valentina Shevchenko e Priscila Pedrita last Saturday (03), in Belém. The Kyrgyzstani woman administered 230 blows to the Brazilian woman without the mediator interrupting the dispute.

.Still on Saturday, the UFC 'boss' wrote a post on Twitter harshly criticizing the referee and saying it was a 'disgusting performance'. In response, through an official note, Yamazaki said he respected the criticism, but said he 'allowed Pedrita to be a warrior'. Even more irritated, Dana White assured that Mario will not mediate Ultimate fights again.
“I think it’s disgusting. I think he's disgusting and I don't want to see him as a referee again. She didn't knock and that's it. The reality is that when you're a fighter and you're in there – and that's one of the reasons why the sport is so big today – most fighters don't give up. Most of the fighters are still inside and she fought like a true warrior for that idiot to say that he gave her the opportunity to be a warrior? No, you idiot, you're in there to protect her from herself! It makes me gag. This guy doesn't have to be refereeing fights and I promise you won't see him again”, said Dana, on the UFC Tonight program, on FOX Sports in the USA.
Despite Dana White's dissatisfaction, the UFC does not have the power to bar referees from its events. The scale of mediators is made by the Athletic Commission responsible for sanctioning the events. In Brazil, the CABMMA (Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission) has this function, whereas in the United States, each state in the country has its own responsible entity.
