UFC president calls Woodley a 'liar' and denies the champion's fight against Nate Diaz

UFC president Dana White did not hide his irritation with the welterweight champion Tyron woodley. The fighter revealed that he was about to make his next title defense against Nate diaz, who hasn't fought since August 2016. However, the manager vehemently denied that this fight will happen.

“Woodley is full of s***. That fight was never offered. He couldn't be more full of s*** and it's absolutely not true. It's not true and our lawyer spoke to him today. He needs to stop saying this kind of thing, these lies”, said Dana White, on the program 'UFC Tonight', on FOX Sports in the USA.

Woodley's interest in facing Diaz angered Rafael dos Anjos, first placed in the welterweight rankings. The Brazilian even sent a message asking the champion to 'become a man'. But, according to the director, the fight against Rafael is the fight to be scheduled by Ultimate.

“Dos Anjos is the fight we want for Woodley. It is the fairest marriage. He had a great victory against Robbie Lawler and it turned out fine. And I love the fight that Dos Anjos can put on. He will come after Tyron woodley and it will be a great fight. This is the fight that will happen”, he added.
