Less than a day after the Combate channel website announced that Anderson Silva was caught with synthetic testosterone and a diuretic in his system during an anti-doping test, the Brazilian remained optimistic that he would soon be released to fight. Through his official Instagram, the former UFC middleweight champion released a message talking about his imperfection, but in responses to fans, he guaranteed his return “soon”.

In the comments of the message, fans of the Brazilian showed their support and, more than once, Anderson commented on the photo himself, guaranteeing that “he would be back soon”. Other followers expressed disappointment with the former champion, who did not respond to them.
“Spider” had already been caught in an anti-doping test after his fight against Nick Diaz, in January 2015. At the time, he alleged the use of a contaminated sexual stimulant to justify the positive test and was punished with a one-year suspension. The idea of Anderson's defense is that he be tried as a first-time offender this time, as USADA and UFC were not yet partners in anti-doping tests.
