Lyoto Machida faces Jon Jones for the belt at UFC 140

Change of plans at UFC! The North American Jon Jones was scheduled to defend his reign in the light heavyweight division against Rashad evans, with no set date yet. But early this Thursday afternoon, president Dana White announced the turnaround in the category and the Brazilian Lyoto Machida will be the next challenger for Jones' belt. The duel will be the main attraction of UFC 140, an event that takes place on December 10, in Toronto, Canada.

“That's it Toronto! Ticket sales for UFC 140 start next week and the main event is 'Bones' Jones against (Lyoto) Machida”, said the top hat on Twitter.

Away from the Octagon since April when he knocked out Randy Couture at UFC 129, Lyoto even commented on his Twitter that he would only return to competition in 2012, but called up to fight for the title, the Brazilian changed his plans. In turn, Jones is coming off a great performance, when he defended his title sovereignly against Quinton Rampage Jackson at UFC 135, held last September.

UFC 140, in addition to Lyoto Machida, will feature two more Brazilians in action: Rogerio Minotouro face Tito Ortiz, while his brother, Rodrigo Minotauro will have a revenge against Frank mir.
