Scheduled to face Marcelo Golm at UFC Belém on February 3rd, North American Timothy Johnson appealed for the fans' help to prepare in the best possible way for the fight. Through a crowdfunding website, the heavyweight, 15th in the category, asked for donations to take two more coaches to the capital of Pará.

Normally, Ultimate pays for the fighter's flights and accommodation, plus a trainer. Most of them pay for another coach or athlete to travel out of their own pocket to help them cut weight, warm up and provide instructions during the fight.

“As many of you know, the UFC has me travel around the world for my fights. What many people don't know is that they only pay for two tickets. Sponsorship money is tight and some of them didn't contribute to this trip. So, I'm asking for your help in this last minute effort to get my other two coaches to Brazil for my fight, as the money raised here goes towards their flights. Any extra amount will be donated to a charity. Thank you for your time and support,” reads Johnson’s description on the crowdfunding company’s website.

Just over a day after starting the financing, Timothy Johnson managed to surpass the goal of US$4. In the early afternoon of this Thursday (25), the amount raised had already exceeded US$4,500.
