Coming off two consecutive victories and in the box seat to watch UFC 220 last Saturday (20), Fabricio Werdum challenged again Stipe Miocic, who broke the record for most belt defenses (3) with a victory over Francis Ngannou in the main event of the event. The Brazilian believes he deserves a chance to avenge the defeat he suffered against the Croatian-American at UFC 198 in May of the year before last.

In an interview with the North American website MMA Junkie backstage at UFC 220, Werdum spoke about his longevity in the sport and said he deserves another shot at the title due to his history in MMA.

“The UFC hasn't told me anything yet, but I deserve it. I deserve another chance. Not just because of my last fights. I've been fighting for a long time. I've been fighting for 20 years, it's a long time. I think I deserve this. My goal is to put another belt on my wall. I already have two, I want to add the third”, commented the Brazilian, showing confidence in victory in a possible rematch with Miocic, in an interview with the TSN channel.

“100% I will be champion again this year. I know Stipe Miocic. I respect him. I like him. He doesn't say bad things, he's a good guy, for sure. But 100% in the first fight I lost to myself. Because of several things. But this time, 100% sure I will beat him. I saw this today. I feel that,” he assured.
