The triumph of Stipe Miocic about Francis Ngannou, in the main fight of UFC 220 last Saturday (20), placed the Croatian-American at the top of the list of heavyweight champions with the most title defenses. For having defended the title three times, beating Randy Couture, Tim Sylvia and Cain Velazquez, the current champion declared that he is the greatest heavyweight in UFC history.

After the duel with Ngannou, Miocic was asked if he now thought he was the best of all time, and he responded emphatically.
"P****! Yes I am. Nobody defended the belt three times. I did that and had a killer streak to get there. I had a difficult path to get to the title and a difficult path to defend it. I had to fight with Andrei Arlovski, so I had to fight with Fabricio Werdum in Brazil in front of 45 thousand people. Crazy stuff. Then alistair overeem, a K-1 champion assassin who hits like tons of bricks. Next up is Junior 'Cigano', who I missed before. Now I got a guy who is a phenomenon. Nothing has ever been easy. I know fighting isn't easy, but I've never had a simple path. Everything was difficult”, said Miocic.
With the victory over the Cameroonian, the champion reached 12 victories in the UFC, with just two defeats, to Stefan struve (only setback suffered by knockout) and Junior Gypsy (the latter avenged at UFC 211 last year).
