The first two UFC events this year had the presence of six Brazilians and all six were defeated. After the setbacks of Thomas almeida and Francimar Bodão at UFC 220, the Brazilians remain without winning in 2018. The bantamweight was brutally knocked out by Rob font in surprising results. Bodão, in turn, did not perform well and was defeated by Gian Villante in the judges' decision.

the fights
Thominhas opened the main card with the need to win, as he was coming off a defeat to Jimmie rivera in July last year. With his better defensive system, the Brazilian still suffered from Font's jabs, who showed great progress in movement. So much so that the North American, fighting in his hometown, even upset Almeida in the first round.
At the end of the initial round, however, the Brazilian found the distance and threw good punches, mainly left hooks. He even stunned Font. But in the second round, the American returned more aggressive and soon knocked down Thomas. The Brazilian resisted, returned to the fight, but later ended up being knocked out with a series of brutal blows from Rob font.
Bodão had a much warmer fight. Always looking back and looking for a counterattack, the light heavyweight was easy prey for Villante, who unleashed his good boxing style and received little counterattack. At the end of the third round, Bodão landed some good shots, but did very little, putting on a performance that bordered on apathy.
