Even coming off a defeat, Jimi Manuwa intends to face Glover Teixeira to get back on track towards a shot at the light heavyweight belt. However, the Englishman has encountered resistance from the Brazilian, who does not intend to face him and prefers to wait for a possible chance at the belt, if Alexander Gustafson remain injured.

In an interview with the North American website MMA Fighting, “Poster Boy” made clear all his frustration with Glover and says that waiting for a title shot doesn't make any sense for the Brazilian.

“It's true that I lost my last fight, but Glover has to understand that if Alex Gustafsson is ready, he is the one who will fight the winner of Daniel Cormier e Volkan oezdemir. Alex knocked him out in his last fight, so he's next in line. The right choice for Teixeira to cement his place close to the belt is to face me. He is number three in the ranking and I am fourth. This is the right fight to do, it’s impossible for him not to see that”, commented the Englishman.

For Manuwa, the fact that the UFC London, scheduled for mid-March, still not having a main fight is due to Glover refusing a duel against him.

PUBLICITY:

“Criticisms about the UFC London must be directed to him. At the end of the day, neither I nor the UFC can force him to fight. If you offer someone a fight, there is no clause in the contract that obliges them to accept that fight. It’s all up to Teixeira”, he pondered.
