Anderson Silva does not seem to fear the risk of a harsh suspension for having been caught in an anti-doping test in November. With a risk of a gain of up to four years, Spider showed optimism about his case and promised to return to competition soon.
In a long text written on his Instagram account, the former middleweight champion (up to 84 kg.) recalled his journey to winning the belt and assured that his story 'is not over yet'
“… Everything I went through, everything I managed to build with willpower, determination and a lot of honor. I had the privilege of putting on the coat of arms of my favorite team, in a certain way, giving it a world title and, above all, for my people. I just have to thank all of you for everything, I say from the bottom of my heart, I love you all who are always giving me strength… Thank you my people! You can be sure it's not over yet. My love and passion for fighting are here, firm and strong. The fight continues, I will stop when GOD thinks it’s no longer possible…,” wrote Anderson.
Anderson was caught in an anti-doping test before his fight against Kelvin Gastelum, at UFC China, in November last year. At the time he was preventively suspended and replaced by Michael Bisping. Having already failed in a previous examination, Spider could face a sentence of up to four years, if it is proven that he acted in bad faith. As a result, Anderson would only fight again at the age of 46.
The first time Anderson fell in a test, in January 2015, the substances drostanolone were found, an anabolic steroid that acts on muscles, causing them to grow and become more rigid, and androsterone, a derivative of testosterone.
