Khabib Nurmagomedov comes from a devastating victory over Edson Barboza at UFC 219 last Saturday, and started the year with another good news: his cousin, Abubakar Nurmagomedov He was hired by Ultimate and will make his debut at UFC Belém, scheduled for February 3rd, against an opponent who is yet to be defined by the organization.

Like the lightweight, Abubakar is another athlete who trains with the father of Barboza's tormentor, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov. Abubakar is a welterweight and has a record of 14 wins and one loss in his career. He had been fighting for WSOF and, among his main triumphs, was a victory over John Howard, a former UFC fighter.
UFC Belém will have as its main fight a duel between middleweights: the Brazilian Lyoto Machida, former light heavyweight champion, faces Erik Anders, undefeated so far with 10 wins in 10 fights. In addition to Lyoto, other Brazilians are confirmed for the event, such as Thiago Marreta (faces Anthony Smith), Alan Nuguette, which goes against Damir Hadzović, and Deiveson Figueiredo, who faces Joseph Morales. The Kyrgyz Valentina Shevchenko will make her flyweight debut against Brazilian Priscila Cachoeira.
