At the beginning of the year, Japanese TV hosted a great challenge between stars from K-1 and the former Pride, the main MMA event alongside the UFC at the beginning of the last decade. Or at least that was what was promoted before, during and after the game between Wanderlei Silva, former PRIDE champion, and K-1 (kickboxing) fighter Masato Kobayashi. In fact, the “challenge” was nothing more than discovering who could push the opponent into a glass wall to a previously stipulated point.

Despite not being able to take Kobayashi to the end of the demarcated line in the given time, the Brazilian, considered an idol in Japan also due to his time as a Pride fighter, represented his former employer well and won the contest for having covered more territory than the "adversary". Before the game, Wand tried provocations in the best Pride style and then greeted Masato Kobayashi, who was 20 kg lighter than the Brazilian.
