“I beat the toughest guy in the division. And the way I won, I don't see anyone else capable of challenging the Tyron woodley. I think I deserve to fight for the title. Now it's my turn (…) I'm on my way to becoming the first Brazilian champion in two UFC divisions and being the welterweight champion. I have no doubt that this will happen. This is my time”, assured Dos Anjos.

If he wins the welterweight title, the Brazilian will join a select group of two-time UFC world champions, which includes Randy Couture (light heavyweight and heavyweight), B.J. Penn (light and medium-medium, Conor McGregor (feather and light) and Georges St Pierre (welterweight and midfielder). Of these, only McGregor had the honor of winning both belts at the same time.
