UFC 220 on January 20th will see the return of the heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic. The Croatian-American faces, in the main fight of the event, the Cameroonian phenomenon Francis Ngannou, which comes from an impressive sequence within Ultimate. Despite praising his next opponent, Miocic says he does not feel threatened by him and is guaranteed to retain his title.

“I'm excited, man. Look, he's a very good guy and very tough. I mean, I know it can bring me a lot of pain. But I can too. Unfortunately for him, I'm not leaving that octagon without my title. I will still be the champion. I still will be”, commented the champion in an interview with UFC commentator Joe Rogan’s podcast.

In his last fight, Ngannou surprised with the knockout power he showed when he knocked out alistair overeem with a punch. However, Miocic guarantees that he will not make the same mistakes as the Dutchman and promised that he will not be affected by the Cameroonian's heavy hands.

“His power is his main quality, but everyone fights hard in the heavyweight division. No one was built to take hits from men weighing 115 kg or 120 kg. I've fought with junior gypsy with Mark Hunt with alistair overeem. I've fought against guys who hit hard. And he's a little crazy too, Ngannou is dangerous for that. We don't know where the punches are coming from. But I'm not crazy, I'm not going to put myself in a position where I can get hit. I’m going to make him uncomfortable inside the Octagon”, he guaranteed.
