The Assunção family gains more prominence every day in the world of MMA. After Raphael Assunção, 29 years old, made his debut in bantamweight on the right foot, defeating his compatriot Johnny Eduardo at UFC Rio. Older brother Junior Assunção, 30 years old, made the right return to Ultimate by scoring six victories in other organizations. Júnior's debut will be against Hawaiian Eddie Yagin at UFC 135, an event that takes place next Saturday (24), in the United States.
However, this weekend, the one whose arm was raised in an MMA fight was the duo's younger brother. Less known to the general public, the youngest Freddy Assunção, 27 years old, performed this Friday (16) at AMMA 8, which took place in Canada. The Brazilian athlete faced Canadian Baz Cunningham and needed just over two minutes to knock out his opponent with a series of punches.
In his still short history in MMA, Freddy has five wins and suffered only one setback. Just like his older brothers, the Brazilian athlete's main specialty is jiu-jitsu.
