A few days after another knockout defeat to Max Holloway, this time at UFC 218 last Saturday (2), the Brazilian José Aldo broke the silence and indicated that he will continue fighting and seeking another world title, despite the fact that the president of Ultimate, Dana White, indicated retirement as a possibility for the former champion in the press conference after the event.

Through his social networks, Aldo thanked his family, friends and fans for their support and said that he remains “always optimistic” and ended with a motivational phrase, giving every indication that he will continue his search for another belt in his career.
“I just have to thank you for everything. To my family who I love, to my team, the best in the world Nova União, for making me great and a champion. To the friends and fans who are always with me, thank you all very much! I will always be optimistic, because believing is the first step to making it happen!”, posted Aldo.
Despite the message, the Brazilian did not give any further clues about his next steps. Aldo dreams of boxing professionally, but his contract with the UFC prevents him from exploring this possibility. The former champion had also been flirting in recent years with a move up to lightweight, which could be the next step, as he lost twice to the champion of his original division.
