“The norms for this situation (fighting between teammates) are pretty clear in this situation: I leave the scene,” Jackson said. “For training, John Danaher, Phil Nurse and Firas Zahabi stay with GSP, while probably Mike Winkeljohn and some of the other guys will look after Carlos. But I’m staying out, I won’t be in any of their corners”, he added.

While on the one hand Jackson can have the satisfaction of seeing his athletes competing for a UFC title, on the other hand he feels uncomfortable with the situation. The commander revealed that he did not like the confrontation, as he is friends with both fighters.

“I didn’t like this fight. They are two of my friends in MMA. I love Georges to death, and Carlos (Condit) has been destructive since he came back to the team. But they have to eat, earn their money. I really love working with them, but I won't be able to help them this time,” said Jackson, who doesn't care about the spotlight his team would have with this fight.

“But I don’t care about the money, the fame, anything I can gain in this fight. Athletes have to make a living, but I couldn't look across the cage against one of my guys. I just can’t do it,” concluded Jackson.
