Although UFC president, Dana White, confirmed that the duel between the promising Darren till and former welterweight title challenger Stephen Thompson was going to happen, Thompson himself denied the boss, guaranteeing that he had not signed any contract to face the Englishman and took the opportunity to say that he has no interest in measuring forces with Till at this moment.

The welterweight fighter's father and coach, Ray Thompson also said that there is no interest from Stephen's team in a duel with Till. For him, the Englishman needs a few more tests before facing “Wonderboy”.
"Darren till You have to go through the list of killers in the category, like Stephen did. When he beats the likes of Jake ellenberger, John hendricks, Robert whittaker, Rory McDonald and so on, so we can talk about him fighting Wonderboy”, said Ray, in an interview with the North American website MMA Fighting.
