St. Pierre returns third in the UFC weight-for-pound rankings

Former welterweight champion, Georges St Pierre returned to Ultimate after four years away, winning the middleweight title straight away over Michael Bisping at UFC 217 last Saturday. And the triumph earned him great positions on his return to the rankings. The Canadian entered the list of weight-for-pound fighters in third place, behind only Demetrious Johnson, flyweight champion, and Conor McGregor, owner of the lightweight belt.

With that, the featherweight champion Max Holloway fell one position and is fourth in the ranking, which includes all UFC fighters, regardless of category. Defeated in UFC 217 co-main fight by TJ Dillashaw, cody garbrandt lost three positions on the list and now occupies 10th place. His tormentor was placed back in the rankings, in seventh. Amanda nunes, bantamweight champion, climbed two steps and is in 12th, and José Aldo, former owner of the featherweight belt, also lost three positions, placing 13th.

Another highlight in the new edition of the rankings, released this week by the UFC, was the debut of Paulo borrachinha on the middleweight list.
