One of the potential opponents of Jon Jones if the former light heavyweight champion moved up to the top division, Cain Velazquez did not spare criticism of “Bones” for his sequence of positive anti-doping tests. At a press conference in South Korea, where he was promoting UFC China, the former heavyweight champion did not hide his frustration with Jones and even considered that “Bones” was so obsessed with Cormier that he did everything in his power to not lose to DC , including using doping.
“I think at the end of the day, certain people are dirty. In our gym, for example, Daniel (Cormier) and I don't need any additional substances to improve our performance. We have been training since we were children. We learned how to train correctly, arrive and compete. So if you bring to the table something like steroids or any other type of competitiveness-enhancing substance, if it's not allowed, then it's not allowed. We want everyone to be on the same page. Then, Jon Jones Doing something like that is stupid as hell...Didn't he want to lose to Daniel? Is that it?” said Velasquez, in a video captured by the YouTube channel “MMA Today”.
