UFC Poland last Saturday (21) was attended by Conor McGregor, but the Irishman was not in Gdansk to participate in Ultimate events, but rather to honor his friend Artem Lobov, who faced André Fili. During Lobov's defeat, McGregor was caught on camera shouting instructions to the Russian-Irish, despite not being in his corner. He ended up reprimanded by central referee Marc Goddard, who had to stop the fight momentarily to give the lightweight champion a “scolding”.

In addition to the argument with McGregor, Goddard forced the fighter to leave the side of the octagon where he was sitting and explained the reason why he quickly interrupted the fight to scold the Irishman. He argued that Conor's instructions gave Lobov an unfair advantage.
“The reason I stopped the fight and spoke to Conor McGregor to leave the Octagon side is because, as things were, Artem Lobov was having the help of a fourth man in his corner, which is unfair. Imagine that McGregor was helping Lobov achieve some sequence or submission that would end the fight. And there? Conor was basically acting as a fourth man in the corner, walking all over the Octagon when he wanted and thought he needed to. When Fili fell Artem, Conor was by his side. This is unfair and not allowed. I won't let him do that. He can’t do what he wants,” declared Goddard, in an interview with the North American website MMA Fighting.
Even with McGregor's instructions in part of his fight, Lobov couldn't resist the more varied game of André Fili, who mixed high kicking prowess with good takedowns and took home a unanimous decision. After the duel, the Russian-Irish admitted that he is thinking about retirement.
