A few days ago, Conor McGregor made his first official public appearance after the superfight with Floyd Mayweather at an event with fans and praised Max Holloway, owner of the featherweight belt and former rival. The American denied the Irishman's praise and even criticized him, telling him that he doesn't have the life of a champion and that he has only been doing exhibition fights.

In an interview with The MMA Hour, “Blessed” declared that he didn't like what McGregor said about the first meeting between the two, won by the Irishman.
“He praised what I did after our fight, but at the end of it all he still said he had beaten me. If you are going to praise someone, then praise them. Without a catch. So he talked about the possibility of us fighting and said I wouldn't bring a lot of money to the table and he's talking about bringing (former world boxing champion) Paulie Malinaggi to MMA. So, he should ask for a fight with CM Punk, at least he already fought in the UFC. It doesn't make sense to me. He has been doing exhibition fights. If that's what you want, then you don't want to live a champion's life. So let it be so”, said Holloway, who compared McGregor to Demetrious Johnson, the most dominant champion in UFC history.
“There are levels to being a champion. I've said this before. Imagine a casual fan who doesn't know anything and starts watching the UFC. He sees Conor with two belts, and Demetrious Johnson, the greatest fighter of all time, with a belt. He doesn't wear his ten belts, he wears just one. They don't want to have that life of a champion. What’s the point of defending your title multiple times if you can just have exhibition fights and make money from it?” asked the Hawaiian.
