One day after the confirmation of the duel between Rafael Dos Anjos e Robbie Lawler headlining UFC Winnipeg in December, the Brazilian expressed his hope that the duel would be worth a shot at the welterweight belt. And the president of Ultimate, Dana White, confirmed that the winner of the fight will be the next athlete to challenge the champion Tyron woodley.

In Toronto for a promotional event for UFC 217, Dana spoke about the marriage between RDA, former UFC lightweight champion, and Robbie Lawler, former owner of the organization's welterweight belt. The North American leader praised the Brazilian's evolution in the new category.
“Yes, this fight will be worth a title shot. Rafael Dos Anjos he just achieved an excellent victory that puts him back on the title track and another victory over Robbie Lawler will certainly give him a new chance”, declared the president in an interview with the Canadian broadcaster TSN and the North American website MMA Junkie.
Dos Anjos has two big wins since moving up from lightweight to welterweight. He debuted by beating the former Strikeforce champion Tarec saffiedine in the unanimous decision in the UFC Singapore. Two months later, the Brazilian finished Neil Magny in the first round and then challenged Tyron woodley. One more victory and he will have that opportunity.
