UFC on Versus: Cerrone beats Charles, but Ronny debuts with victory

In an event of great fights and some surprises, UFC on Versus 5 arrived in style, this Sunday (14), in the city of Milwaukee, in the United States. In the main attraction of the show, the English Dan hardy and the veteran Chris Lytle They put on an electrifying fight, with the North American athlete finishing the fight in the last round. Among the Brazilians in the fight program, Ronny Markes debuted with the right foot and defeated Czech Karlos Vemola in the unanimous decision of the judges, but Charles of the Bronx ended up knocked out by the hard Donald Cerrone in the first round.

In the main attraction of the event, Dan Hardy and Chris Lytle had a frank fight that mostly involved striking. Henderson beats Miller and gets closer to the title fight
Before the second most important fight of the night, UFC president Dana White warned that in case of victory, Jim Miller would be the next challenger for the lightweight belt. But when the fighting started, it was Ben henderson that imposed itself octagon. The former WEC champion managed to escape his opponent's numerous submission attempts and work with good combinations in the fight on his feet and with powerful ground and pound on the ground. After 15 minutes of an electrifying duel with no definition until the end, Ben henderson took the win in the unanimous decision of the judges. With the victory, the American scores his second victory in the UFC and is close to fighting for the category's belt.

Cerrone knocks out Charles
In one of the most anticipated fights of the event, Donald Cerrone e Charles of the Bronx entered the octagon to seek advancement in the lightweight division. The North American used his greater wingspan to work on the feet, while the Brazilian was not intimidated and accepted the striking. After three very even minutes, Cerrone landed an uppercut on the Tupiniquim athlete's plexus and he fell to the ground. Without wasting time, Donald launched into a sequence of blows and forced the referee to stop the fight.

Ronny Markes makes his UFC debut on the right foot
Considered the underdog in the fight against Karlos Vemola, Ronny Markes from Rio Grande do Norte was not intimidated by the pressure of his debut and secured his 12th victory in his career. The Brazilian started the fight by studying the Czech fighter, who was trying to take the initiative. After passing the pressure for his debut, Ronny unleashed his efficient takedown game and defeated Vemola, where he worked with punches from above. The recipe was repeated in the following rounds and the Brazilian athlete took the fight with a unanimous decision from the judges.
