Shortly after having an opponent defined for her Ultimate debut, Kalindra Faria, who would face Andrea Lee at UFC 216 on October 7th, he was left without an opponent. The American was forced to postpone what would also be her first fight for the organization. This is because USADA requires that any fighter who has already been caught in a drug test undergo six months of testing before fighting in the UFC. Lee was suspended by the Nevada Athletic Commission in March 2016 for using diuretics.

Without an opponent, Kalindra ended up being challenged by veteran Sarah Kaufman. The Canadian revealed that she would face the Brazilian in December at flyweight, but declared that she would fight at UFC 216, as long as the duel was at bantamweight, as she would not have time to cut weight to the 57 kg category. Faria is the Titan FC bantamweight champion and would debut in Ultimate as a flyweight.
“We were already going to fight in December. I might show up and fight Kalindra at bantamweight for UFC 216,” Kaufman posted on his official Twitter.
Kalindra Faria has a record of 18 wins, five losses and one draw. She is on a three-fight win streak – her last fight was a decision triumph against compatriot Carina Damm, which gave her the Titan FC title. His last defeat was to the Polish Karolina Kowalkiewicz, former UFC strawweight title challenger who is coming off a defeat to Claudia gadelha at UFC 212, in June, in Rio de Janeiro.
