During confusion with Tony Ferguson last Thursday (28), Fabricio Werdum he cursed the lightweight several times, including using profanity in Spanish and Portuguese. Despite representing the United States, Ferguson is of Mexican descent and argued with Werdum in Spanish. The fight started when the lightweight, who faces Kevin Lee in the main fight of UFC 216, he asked “Vai Cavalo” not to speak over him, while the two answered questions from the North American press. Werdum didn't like “El Cucuy's” tone of voice and started cursing him. In Spanish, Ferguson told the Brazilian to “shut up” and the discussion almost turned into a fight.
