The Brazilian Serginho Moraes was surpassed by Kamaru Usman at UFC Pittsburgh last Saturday (16), after being knocked out in the first round. The punch he received from the Nigerian made doctors from the Pennsylvania Commission decide to suspend him for two months, to allow the welterweight to fully recover from the knockout before returning to the octagon.

This means he cannot be called up to fight again for the next 60 days. In addition to him, another athlete involved in the event received the same hook: Jason Saggo, who was also knocked out by the Brazilian Gilbert Durinho in a lightweight duel. Krzysztof Jotko e Alex Reyes also suffered brutal knockouts, from Uriah Hall e Mike Perry, respectively, and were also removed for two months.
The Pennsylvania Commission also suspended some athletes for shorter periods. Cases of David Branch, who had to ask the referee to stop the main fight against Luke Rockhold. Former two-category WSOF champion, the American was suspended for 45 days, as was Hector Lombard, defeated by Anthony Smith. Another four fighters were suspended for a month: Gregor Gillespie, Uriah Hall, Jason González and Anthony Hamilton. Finally, Zu Anyanwu was suspended indefinitely, and needs authorization from an ophthalmologist to return to the Octagon.
