Recently crowned again as light heavyweight champion, Daniel Cormier asked his fans to avoid judging and provoking Jon Jones through social networks. The American revealed that he received a lot of support after the defeat, but that some fans provoked him, and he does not want this to happen again with his arch-rival, who lost the title after having yet another case of doping confirmed by USADA.

Through his social networks, Cormier posted a long text in which he reflects on the support he received after his defeat to “Bones” at UFC 214, praises the former champion's attitude after beating him, asks his fans to “take a break” regarding Jones, and let your rival and his team analyze the evidence to seek a defense on the case.

Finally, DC stated, in part of the statement directed at his fans, that he receives no support from them hurting others, in this case his rival Jon Jones.

See Cormier's statement (free translation):

“Life can really be a rollercoaster. I think every now and then you need to stop for a moment and take a deep breath. You never know what's coming your way. You just try to deal with these things the best way you can. One thing that has been incredible is the support from you, the fans. I have never felt so much love. It's crazy, because this all happened when I lost. Everyone, now I ask you to take a deep breath and leave Jones alone. Let Jones and his team analyze what is happening and what happened. I was down and some of you kicked me, but most of you showed me compassion and love. After the fight, Jones showed compassion. Regardless of what happens, we as humans need to show compassion. Jon is not in this alone, remember this man has a family. Let's respect that. You don't show your support for me by hurting others. Again, I thank you all for your incredible support and I trust that you will be able to do what I asked.
Daniel Cormier"
