Retired from MMA, former UFC fighter Gabriel Napão will debut in boxing

Retired from the Octagon since April 2016, when he was brutally knocked out by Derrick Lewis at UFC Zagreb, Gabriel Napao will migrate from MMA to boxing. The Brazilian will begin his career in the noble art in the ring at New England's Future 4, in Massachusetts (USA), on October 26th, with no opponent yet defined by the organization.

Interestingly, although he has seven knockouts in his career, striking has never been Napão's 'flagship' in MMA. A black belt in jiu-jitsu, the Rio native has always had the gentle art as his main weapon, having submitted nine opponents.

Gabriel Napao He has a professional record of 17 wins and 11 losses, having built practically his entire career in the UFC. There were 22 fights held in Dana White's organization, with 12 positive results and 10 negative results. He even challenged for the heavyweight belt against the legend Randy Couture in 2007, but ended up being knocked out in the third round. The greatest moment of Napão's career was against Mirko 'Cro Cop', when the Brazilian knocked out the Croatian with a kick to the head, precisely the blow that is his rival's trademark.
