Middleweight Antônio Carlos “Shoe Face” was criticized by fans and followers on his social networks after making a joke about Hurricane Irma, which has been causing damage and deaths in Florida, the US state. The Brazilian moved a few years ago to Coconut Creek, the city that houses the facilities of the fighter's new team, American Top Team.

After harsh criticism from his fans, Shoe Face He ended up deleting the post, which had a photo of him simulating being dragged by the strong winds caused by the hurricane. In the caption, he wrote that he was experiencing “his first hurricane.” And he closed the post with an emoji of a “crying with laughter” face. Fans were divided between thoughtful criticism, such as “unnecessary”, and irony, such as “the clown nose was missing”.
Hurricane Irma has devastated the North American west coast and the Caribbean. At least 28 people died as a result of the natural phenomenon on the Caribbean islands, while four deaths have already been confirmed in the United States. Unlike many people, the Brazilian decided not to leave Florida and has been trying to maintain his training pace, as he has a fight scheduled for the UFC Sao Paulo, which takes place on October 28th. The middleweight, who has won three in a row, faces Jack Marshmann in the last Ultimate event in Brazil in 2017.
