After being caught for possible use of a diuretic in an anti-doping test conducted by USADA, the heavyweight junior gypsy not only guaranteed his innocence, but also revealed that he will continue training for his next fight, against Francis Ngannou, in the hope that the organization realizes they made a mistake with their sample.

Officially, the duel with the Cameroonian, which would have taken place on September 9th, at UFC 215, has been cancelled. However, Cigano declared, in a video posted on social media, that he continues training as if he were going to fight Ngannou, who recently asked Overeem to replace the Brazilian.
“I will continue to train and be ready to fight, hoping that USADA will correct this big misunderstanding and release me to fight. Dana White, I'll be waiting for your call, I'm still here for Ngannou. Let’s do it”, declared Cigano, after appearing to make gloves with boxing trainer Luiz Dórea. In the video, he repeats the message written in English.
