Executioner of the career of Renan Barao, former UFC bantamweight champion and athlete from Nova União, TJ Dillashaw surprised by revealing himself to be a fan of the Brazilian's main training partner: José Aldo. Admitting that he enjoyed watching the former featherweight champion's fights, the American lamented the fact that Aldo was unable to repeat his past good performances in his most recent engagement, when he was knocked out by Max Holloway at UFC 212 last June. According to TJ, the man from Manaus needs to recover the 'killer instinct' he demonstrated in the Octagon to become the best in the world again.

“He looked a little different in that fight (against Holloway). I didn't see the fighter I saw in the past. I'm still a fan of this guy, but I wanted to see that killer instinct back. I feel like I haven't seen this fighter in a while. To try to be the best pound-for-pound in the world again, he needs to recover that”, declared Dillashaw, in a Fight Hub TV interview.

Despite TJ's support, Aldo still doesn't have an official date to fight again. The Brazilian himself has already revealed that he intends to return in 2017, preferably against Cub swanson, but there is still no further information about it.

TJ Dillashaw, in turn, is also trying to return to the position that was once his. Dethroned by Dominick Cruz in January 2016, he put himself back in the fight for the belt by beating the Brazilians Raphael Assunção and John Lineker, both last year. He was marked to face cody garbrandt, current bantamweight champion, at UFC 213, in July, but an injury to his rival postponed the clash. The expectation is that they will face each other in November, in New York (USA), at UFC 217.
