At straw weight Claudia gadelha responded to the challenge of Jessica Andrade through social media and assured that he is also interested in facing his compatriot. Claudinha comes from two consecutive victories, against Cortney Casey and Karolina Kowalkiewicz. The triumphs came after the defeat to Joanna Jedrzejczyk, champion of the category and last defeat suffered by Jéssica “Bate-Estaca”.

On her official Instagram, Gadelha posted a montage of the two fighters and said she was waiting for a call from Sean Shelby, the UFC executive responsible for marrying the fights.
“I read today that the Jessica Andrade You want to fight me. I've been waiting for the UFC's response about my next opponent since I left the octagon in the last fight and no one has responded so far. So, Jessica, let's make it happen? I'm waiting for a call today at any time, even if it's 2 am”, declared Gadelha.
While she is ranked number one in the category, Claudinha has had difficulty finding opponents. Having already lost to Joanna twice, the Brazilian herself admits that she needs to show more if she wants to challenge the current champion for a third time. Jéssica, who lost to Jedrzejczyk in her last fight, currently occupies fourth place in the strawweight rankings, behind Gadelha, Kowalkiewicz and Rose namajunas.
