Chris Weidman overcame the bad phase with style: at the end Kelvin Gastelum in the third round of the main fight of UFC Long Island This Saturday (22), the North American interrupted a sequence of three consecutive defeats. He had been knocked out by Luke Rockhold, Yoel romero e Gegard Mousasi, but it shone before Gastelum.
Using his takedowns and jiu-jitsu, Weidman took advantage of his size advantage over “KG” to impose his wrestling. At the end of the third round, he landed a katagatame, and forced Gastelum to give up. But before that, at the end of the first round, he was almost knocked out again: Kelvin's hand went in, but he recovered in time to continue until the end of the round.
