Former world champion at Glory, one of the biggest striking events in the world, Gokhan Saki will make his Ultimate debut against Brazilian Henrique Frankenstein, at UFC Japan, an event that will take place on September 23rd. Despite being recognized as one of the best kickboxers in the world, the Turkish-Dutch has little experience in MMA, having only one fight on his record: defeat to James Zikic, in 2004.

Even so, the UFC signed Saki, mainly for his striking potential. In addition to the Glory light heavyweight title, the fighter also won the K-1 GP in 2008, becoming the first fighter of Turkish descent to achieve this feat. In 2015, he was voted the second best light heavyweight kickboxer in the world in a ranking prepared by Glory.

Frankenstein began his UFC career in June last year, but has already had five fights in the company. The Brazilian started well, winning his first two fights, knocking out Jonathan Wilson and submitting Joachim Christensen. However, he comes from three consecutive defeats. In his last fight, he was knocked out in just 22 seconds by Ion cutelaba at UFC Auckland.

UFC Japan's main fight will be a rematch between the Brazilian Mauricio Shogun and the Haitian Ovince St Preux. In the first fight between the two, held in Brazil, OSP surprised the former light heavyweight champion and knocked him out in the first round. No other fights for the event have yet been announced.
