The balanced victory over Fabricio Werdum yielded to alistair overeem a nice salary at UFC 213 last Saturday. The Dutchman took home US$800 or R$2,6 million for his triumph against his Brazilian rival. The heavyweight received the highest payout of the event, even though he was not part of the main fight of the night. “Vai Cavalo”, in turn, was further away from the belt, but won US$275 thousand, something around R$900 thousand for his performance.

New interim middleweight champion, the New Zealander Robert whittaker took home US$350 or R$1,14 million. His opponent, the Cuban Yoel romero received exactly the same amount. In Whittaker's contract, known as “The Reaper”, there was no bonus for victory, so he would earn the same salary in case of defeat.
In addition to Werdum, two other Brazilians fought at UFC 213. Douglas D’Silva lost to Rob font by submission and won US$ 18 thousand (R$ 58,7 thousand), while the middleweight Thiago Marreta knocked out Gerald meerschaert and received a grant of US$68 thousand (R$221,85 thousand), half of which was a bonus for winning.
