Little by little, the former UFC welterweight champion Matt hugs is improving after a serious accident suffered a few weeks ago in the United States. After being in serious condition following the collision of his truck with a train, the American is now breathing without the help of equipment, according to his sister Beth Hughes.

She shared the good news with the former fighter's fans using his own social media. Matt hugs. In a personalized message, Beth thanked the prayers directed to her brother and asked for patience for those looking for more news about the former champion, as the family is not used to dealing with the press and fans.
“Matt is now breathing without equipment and is showing small signs of improvement. There are some stories and commentary that are exaggerated. Please don't believe everything you hear or read. This will be a long journey to recovery. Please continue to pray for Matt. He's strong, he has heart and he won't give up! We have faith that he will recover in God's grace and mercy (…) Please understand that Matt is the only public figure in our family. The rest are just normal citizens of small towns. We never had to deal with the media and all the additional stress that came with it. We are very private and are doing our best to keep you informed, but our focus right now is Matt's recovery. Not having new news is having good news!”, declared Beth.
Hughes was UFC champion on two occasions and has victories over names like Carlos Newton, B.J. Penn, Royce gracie e Georges St Pierre. The North American was recently inducted into the Ultimate Hall of Fame as a fighter and for one of his victories over Frank Trigg, considered one of the biggest upsets in the company's history.
