After repeated problems that prevented the rematch between Daniel Cormier e Jon Jones, the light heavyweight champion will have the chance to take revenge on his rival at UFC 214, scheduled for July 29th. DC, however, says he is not absolutely certain that Jones will appear in the Octagon. This is because, the last time the two were going to face each other, the former champion ended up being caught in an anti-doping test two days before the fight.

In an interview with The MMA Hour, Cormier discussed his rival's past and admitted that he is making contingency plans in case Jones really has another similar problem close to the fight.

“I try to be positive. After all, at this point, what's the point in stressing? I mean, you think everything is fine, but the last time it happened two days before the fight. So I won't feel completely safe until we're in the Octagon. Things can happen at any time. I’ll be there, let’s hope Jones will be there too,” declared DC, admitting, however, that he needs the motivation that a fight against the enemy brings him.

“I want fights that make me excited. As Anthony Johnson I had that doubt if he could hit me and knock me out... That's what makes me want to fight. Wondering if Jones will be able to do what he did last time. That kind of thing gets my blood flowing. If not, I’ll go back to television”, he reported.
