The always controversial statements of Chael Sonnen they bother many fighters, but one in particular guarantees that he doesn't take it personally. Mauritius Shogun, who has already faced the loudmouth - on that occasion, in 2013, the Brazilian was submitted in the first round -, states that Sonnen adopts a provocative style just to attract the attention of the media, which, according to him, does not interfere with his relationship with the North American.

“He does it to get attention. I already spoke to Sonnen “off the record”, he says he does this out of controversy, he has already apologized to the Brazilian people. I don't hold any grudge against him. Each person has their own personality and acts the way they think is right,” he declared, in an interview with the website 'Combate.com'.
Asked about the duel between Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva, which takes place this Saturday (24), at Bellator 180, Shogun did not hide his support for his personal friend. For him, the inactive time of his compatriot, who hasn't fought since 2013, will not influence his performance in the fight.
“Wandeco is a guy who will always be my champion, our eternal champion. He's a guy who motivated me a lot in the beginning. I hope he can put his game, his heart, to win the fight. Wandeco fights with its heart, always putting on a show. I hope the fight ends with a knockout for Wanderlei. That's what he's always looking for.
