The injury that forced the champion cody garbrandt to leave the duel with TJ Dillashaw, which would take place at UFC 213 on July 8th, was not well understood by the challenger. This is because the former owner of the bantamweight belt revealed that he had seen videos in which his arch-rival is drunk and wrestling with his teammates.

The images forced Dillashaw to question the extent of Garbrandt's injury, who reportedly went to Germany to see a specialist to try to heal in time to keep the fight going. However, German doctors warned that the champion should withdraw from combat to heal his back properly.

PUBLICITY:

“Of course I want the fight against Garbrandt, but he's hurt, or at least that's what it looks like. I saw videos of him drunk and wrestling with Danny Castillo (former wrestler and coach of Team Alpha Male). There are some posts on social media and I was tagged in them. They show these images of Cody drunkenly wrestling with his friends. That's kind of crazy. If it’s hurting to even walk and it’s prevented you from defending your title, then you should be focusing on recovery,” said Dillashaw, in an interview with the “Fight Society” podcast.

Recently, TJ declared that he would like to move down to flyweight and face the champion Demetrious Johnson, as the fight with Garbrandt no longer has a date to take place. For Dillashaw, DJ's refusal indicates that he is afraid of losing his 57-pound belt.

PUBLICITY:

“He doesn’t want to fight me for fear of losing his title. I respect Demetrious Johnson like person. I like him, I like his wife. But in my opinion, he is tarnishing his career and reputation by acting like this and refusing to fight me.”
