Without fighting since April 2016, Jon Jones is renewed to return to the Octagon. And who guarantees this is Mike Winkeljohn, trainer of the former light heavyweight champion. According to Mike, 'Bones' will show new elbow techniques in his rematch against Daniel Cormier, scheduled for UFC 214, July 29, in Anaheim (USA).

He continues placing it very close to the fighters' faces and then stops like a smile, and continues the process. He has some new things for Daniel that are even more cruel”, declared the coach on “The MMA Hour”.
Despite the downtime, Winkeljohn guarantees that his pupil is ready to regain the belt in his next fight. For him, the duel against Cormier is favorable for Jones.
“I think it’s amazing (Jones) fights for the belt. I don't think he has any need to take another fight before facing Daniel Cormier. As much as I respect Daniel, I think it's a good fight for Jon, because the first time, Daniel couldn't take him down, Jon was able to take him down. Jon managed to hit him everywhere, so I think that counts in our favor in the fight,” he concluded.
Jones and Cormier faced each other for the first time at UFC 182, in January 2015. On that occasion, 'Bones' thwarted his rival's takedown attempts and was superior for most of the fight, emerging victorious via unanimous decision from the judges.
The rematch, however, has already been canceled on two occasions. The first time was at UFC 197, due to Cormier's injury, and the second at UFC 200, due to drug doping. Jon Jones. The fight became one of the most anticipated among MMA fans due to the feud between the athletes, which came to blows in a historic mess during a promotional event.
