Former UFC middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold prepares to return to action. Without fighting since June 2016, when he was dethroned by Michael Bisping, the American admitted that he should return to the octagon in the coming months to face Gegard Mousasi, a direct competitor in the fight for a chance at the belt. However, Luke highlighted that he is keeping an eye on a possible call for the division's interim title fight, which takes place between Yoel romero e Robert whittaker at UFC 213 in July.

“Ask Mousasi, this is the fight they (UFC) want. And I like it too. He is a man of principle and for that I will give him some credit. He will wait and see for the best offer. I can't blame a man for this, but I think this fight is the one that makes the most sense right now. I'm training and I'm prepared. If something happens to Whittaker or Romero, I will be ready to fill that space too”, said the fighter, in an interview with the “TMZ Sports” program.

A declared dislike of Bisping, current champion of the category, Rockhold did not hide his desire to create a trilogy with his rival. After winning by submission in their first meeting, in 2014, and being knocked out in the rematch, Luke assured that he will continue fighting in search of an opportunity to challenge the Englishman.

“Is he (Bisping) going to fight someone relevant in the division? I'm just going to do my job and fight when I have to fight. I'm looking for that opponent, but of course I want to meet Michael for the third time inside the Octagon – concluded Rockhold.

Luke Rockhold, 32 years old, hasn't fought since June 2016, when he was surprisingly knocked out by Michael Bisping, in a defeat that cost him the middleweight title. He had won the belt one fight before, at UFC 194, with a knockout over Chris Weidman. In Ultimate, he had seven fights, with five wins and two losses. In total, he has 15 positive results and three negative results in his professional record, including winning the now-defunct Strikeforce belt.
