The two will face each other at UFC 214, on July 29th, the same event that will feature a fight for the 93 kg title, between the current champion Daniel Cormier and the challenger Jon Jones. Manuwa revealed that Ultimate himself guaranteed his opportunity, if he manages to beat Oezdemir, also with two consecutive victories in the organization.

PUBLICITY:

“I'm calm, I can't complain about Jon Jones get the fight. He is one of the best fighters of all time. I think I'm going to knock out Volkan, and Dana said I'll have a chance to fight for the belt after that”, commented the Englishman, in an interview with the North American program “The MMA Hour”.

Another situation that could keep him away from a title fight is the fact that Manuwa is a training partner with Alexander Gustafson, another one that could steal your place in line. “Poster Boy” guarantees, however, that there is no animosity towards the Swede.

PUBLICITY:

“We both don’t care who gets the title fight first. I can say that Alex is one of the best in the world, and I would be very happy if he could do it, and I would be very happy for me. We don't need to bring this between us. We train together, we help each other, we are friends and sparring partners, so I don't care who gets it. It’s obvious, I want it and so does he, so whatever happens, happens,” he declared.
