one day after the confusion involving Cris Cyborg and Angela Magaña during an event held by the UFC for the almost 500 athletes on its roster, a video of the moment in which the Brazilian throws a punch at the North American was leaked onto the internet, via the website CagePages. Although the angle is bad, it is possible to see the two arguing and Magaña's head going back to absorb the impact of Cris' blow.

The two had been exchanging barbs on social media for months. The American mocked a photo in which Cyborg appears in a costume during a visit to a children's hospital and also provoked the fighter's boyfriend, her manager Ray Elbe. When confronted by the Brazilian at the event, Magaña cursed her and Cris ended up punching her in the face. Although it was initially reported that the strawweight became dizzy and lost a tooth, this was not confirmed.
Through his social networks, Magaña revealed that UFC employees called the police and, after advice from managers, she decided to press charges against Cyborg, who recently gained dual citizenship in the United States, despite continuing to represent Brazil in the octagon.
