Despite the provocations before the fight, the welterweight Jorge masvidal showed respect to his tormentor Demian Maia. The two fought in the main portion of UFC 211 last Saturday (13) and the Brazilian won by split decision in an even battle. The Cuban-American made a point of posing with his opponent and praised him through social media.

In a photo posted by the Brazilian himself on his official Twitter, Masvidal commented and “retweeted” the image, saying that Demian Maia He was one of the best ground fighters in the entire sport.
“I take my hat off to you, Demian Maia. You are truly one of the best grapplers in the entire sport”, declared Masvidal, who had already been praised by the Brazilian.
Demian, as he does in practically all of his fights, win or lose, asked for a photo with his opponent and declared that the Cuban-American had one of the best defensive jiu-jitsu games he had ever faced in the UFC. Maia has already fought with names like Anderson Silva, Chris Weidman, Chael Sonnen and Gunnar Nelson.
"Thanks, Jorge masvidal, it was great to compete with you, a great athlete. I needed this test to learn more about myself”, declared Demian, who praised the Cuban-American's jiu-jitsu post-fight.
