Former owner of the bantamweight belt, Dominick Cruz has the right to talk about the next duel for the title, between the current champion cody garbrandt and the challenger TJ Dillashaw, at UFC 213. “The Dominator” has already faced them both, beating TJ and losing to Cody, and he thinks his latest tormentor has the advantage over his opponent.

Cruz reiterates that, technically, Dillashaw has what it takes to beat Garbrandt, but he believes that the mental advantage will be on the champion's side. TJ was Cody's teammate for a long time and left Team Alpha Male feuding with most of the wrestlers and friends, including Garbrandt and Urijah faber, the team leader.
“I think if we look at their style, TJ can beat Cody. He kicks a lot and knows how to mix punches and kicks. Cody has more power in the short range, but Dillashaw can use his kicks to offset that, as well as angles and movement. I think this might help you. But the mental part will be on Garbrandt's side. I think TJ will be fighting all of Team Alpha Male, not just Cody. I think this is bothering Dillashaw and will continue to bother him until the day of the fight (…) I think Cody wins for that”, commented Cruz, in an interview with the program “The MMA Hour”.
Since his loss to Garbrandt at UFC 207, Dominick Cruz He did not fight and has dedicated himself to his work as a commentator, having participated in UFC 208 as a guest, in addition to other programs on North American Fox Sports. Recently, however, the former champion assured that, when he returns to the octagon, he will want to fight directly for the title again.
