Brazilian Hermes França confirmed his departure from the UFC this weekend. Former UFC lightweight title contender, Hermes, has been suspended since July, when he was caught by the California Athletic Commission for testing positive for anabolic steroids in his fight against Sean Sherk.
Franca admitted his guilt, and the Commission issued a 12-month suspension throughout the United States. The Brazilian requested his contractual release to fight outside the United States and the UFC complied, breaking the bond with the organization.
