Antonio Carlos "Shoe Face” is already looking ahead. Even faced with a difficult challenge in Eric Spicely, who he will fight at UFC 212 in Rio, the Brazilian is thinking about new and bigger challenges. Shoe Face says that the “All-American” has a positive history with Brazilian fighters and would like to change that. In fact, Weidman won Anderson Silva twice, in addition to passing over Vitor belfort and overcome Lyoto Machida in a unanimous decision – all fights were for the middleweight title.
“I really want to grow in the category. I was very immature when I joined the UFC, I only had three fights as an MMA professional, despite a lot of experience in jiu-jitsu. So, during my time at home, I gained a lot of experience and, every day, every fight, I'm improving. I'm going into my eighth fight in the UFC and that brings maturity. Today, I am a more complete, experienced and happy fighter. That's why I'm sure I'll get this victory in Rio and then I want to face the Chris Weidman. He has a history with the Brazilians and I want to come face to face with him”, commented the jiu-jitsu black belt in an interview with the Combate channel website.
After winning TUF Brasil 3 among heavyweights, Shoe Face He moved down to light heavyweight and suffered the first defeat of his career against Patrick Cummins. After the fight, he dropped back down to middleweight, where he has had five fights so far, with three wins, one loss and one unsuccessful duel.
