The Brazilian Rafael Dos Anjos comes from two consecutive defeats at lightweight, which is why he decided to change category. The first of the setbacks was the most painful: the knockout suffered by Eddie Alvarez cost him the UFC belt. But before being defeated, RDA had already had a hard time during the weight cut. According to rumors, confirmed this Monday, Dos Anjos even fainted.

In an interview with the program “The MMA Hour”, the Brazilian confirmed the story and admitted that he was “off the air” for almost three minutes. His coaches even considered canceling the duel with Alvarez, which took place in July last year, but in the end Rafael ended up taking action and being knocked out in the first round.

“I passed out in the bathtub during the weight cut for the fight with Eddie Alvarez. I was unconscious for about three minutes. My trainers were ready to call XNUMX because I was unconscious and lying in my bed. They put ice on my chest and I woke up. I stood still for an hour. We thought about canceling the fight, but I'm a fighter and I didn't want to disappoint the fans. Looking back, I could have done that, since Khabib Nurmagomedov canceled the fight with Tony Ferguson the other day due to a cutting problem as well. But everything is calm. I look forward to a new life in a new division,” she commented.

Dos Anjos fought again at lightweight and, after losing again, this time to Tony Ferguson, decided to move up to welterweight. He debuts in the new division on June 17th, at UFC Singapore, against Tarec saffiedine, number 11 in the Ultimate rankings and former Strikeforce champion.
